“I am greatly honored to have been elected as the President of the Malaysian Footwear Manufacturers Association (MFMA). Since its inception in 1978, MFMA is an association dedicated to promote and enhance the growth and development of the footwear industry in Malaysia towards establishing it as the “Shoe City of Asia”, while striving to provide value for our members and uphold their interests.

In an industry with a significant number of industry players, we continue to act as a focal point for them to obtain information on the latest industry trends and designs; and at the same time to help them generate new trade opportunities and adopt new innovations for greater growth. In doing so, we have taken a proactive step by jointly organizing the annual Malaysia International Shoe Festival with the Ministry of Tourism in 2010 to showcase our quality footwear to the world. Since then, this event has received overwhelming responses from the industry fraternity and visitors from local and overseas.

One of our other visions over the years is to encourage more home grown designers and aspiring entrepreneurs to join in the footwear industry for its sustainable growth. In 1998, we have initiated the Malaysia Footwear Design Competition to cultivate locally bred designers for the footwear industry.

Today, we are proud to have members from across the country. Our board and working committee consist of a team of dedicated individuals who are passionate about the industry and volunteer their support and knowledge for the benefits of all our members. To this end, we pledge to continue our efforts in attaining the vision and mission of our Association, providing supports and linkages for our members to spread their wings globally.
